VP, Business Banker/Lending
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand client relationships to generate new deposits, loans, and overall portfolio growth.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through deposits, lending products, and fee-based banking services.
- Review client account activity to detect cross-selling opportunities and strengthen long-term client relationships.
- Represent the bank at community, business, and industry events to build brand presence and referral networks.
- Conduct preliminary credit analysis by evaluating borrowers’ financial condition and risk profile in line with the bank’s credit policies.
- Gather and assess financial documentation to structure and present credit proposals to management or the Loan Committee.
- Coordinate the closing and servicing of approved loans, ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and timely disbursements.
- Monitor the performance and quality of the loan portfolio, addressing any risk concerns or missing documentation.
- Maintain a holistic view of client relationships, integrating deposits, lending, and treasury management solutions.
- Ensure timely responses to internal compliance and regulatory requests (BSA, KYC, and related requirements) while collaborating with branch teams and completing required training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking, or Private Banking roles. Formal credit training is a plus.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining strong organization and time-management skills.
- Strong client service mindset with proven ability to identify opportunities to sell and cross-sell banking products while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Solid understanding of banking regulations, compliance standards, and branch operational procedures at both the state and federal levels.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to evaluate situations and recommend effective solutions for clients.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating initiative and accountability in meeting deadlines and achieving objectives.
