Environmental Social and Biodiversity Analyst
Duties
- Review of Biodiversity Management Plans Monitoring Programs, Biodiversity Action Plans aligned to IFC Performance Standard 6.
- Identify natural habitats and modify habitats though GIS tools
- Review, data entry, verification of completeness and initial evaluation of Environmental and Social (E&S) information of prospective credit clients.
- Entry of information in ArcGIS and E&S information systems.
- E&S impact identification and assessment.
- Assist in the preparation of clients’ E&S documentation.
- Assist in the verification of good E&S practices and compliance with environmental and social legislation.
- Interact with offices from multiple countries in Latin America for requesting, collecting and storing E&S project information.
- Travel to project sites occasionally to conduct assessment and monitoring visits.
- Support other members of the Sustainability and E&S team with departmental projects and activities as needed.
Required skills
- Very good computer skills, especially Excel and other MS Office application.
ArcGIS knowledge is considered a plus. - Fluent in Spanish. Advanced written and intermediate spoken English.
- 1 or 2 years of experience in similar positions (preferred).
- Technical or bachelor’s degree in biology, Forestry Engineering or similar field.
- Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, specifically Performance Standard 6 (preferred).
